Martin Gilbert

Mr. Gilbert is Chairman of the Advisory Board. Mr. Gilbert is also Chairman of Aberdeen Standard Investments & Vice Chairman of Standard Life Aberdeen plc, Edinburgh.

Standard Life Aberdeen is one of the world’s largest asset managers, with over EUR 650bn in assets under management.

Mr. Gilbert joined the investment department of local law firm Brander & Cruikshank in 1982, which subsequently became Aberdeen Asset Management. Mr. Gilbert was a co-founder & CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management. In March 2017, a merger between Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management was announced. At the time, the merger created the UK’s largest asset management firm, and the second biggest in Europe.

Mr. Gilbert sits on the UK Treasury’s Financial Services Trade and Investment Board and the Scottish Government’s Financial Services Advisory Board. He is a member of the International Advisory Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the International Advisory Board of British American Business, as well as the Deputy Chairman of British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC.

Mr. Gilbert graduated from Aberdeen University with an MA in Accountancy and LL.B in Law before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte. He received an honorary doctorate from Heriot-Watt University in 2014 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2017.

John B. Quinn

Mr. Quinn is the founder of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP.

With his partners, Mr. Quinn built Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP into the world´s leading law firm focused on litigation with ca. 1.8 billion USD revenues, 3,000 employees and 34 offices in 11 countries.

Quinn Emanuel is consistently ranked among the top law firms in various industry rankings and Mr. Quinn has been voted the most famous practising lawyer of any top law firm in the U.S. and one of the most influential lawyers in the U.S. by National Law Journal.

Quinn Emanuel was voted the most feared law firm in the world based on a survey of top legal decision makers.

Mr. Quinn attended Claremont McKenna College and Harvard Law School and was an editor of the Harvard Law Review and a Knox Fellow. He graduated in 1976 and joined Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and co-founded Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in 1986. He also served as general counsel to the Academy of the Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the organization that gives out the Oscars.

Mr. Quinn is an avid sportsman and has completed the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii twice. He is based in Los Angeles where Quinn Emanuel has its world headquarters.

General Scott Miller

General Scott Miller is a retired 4 Star General Officer who served more than 38 years in the United States Army.

He was the final commander of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces – Afghanistan from September 2, 2018 to July 12, 2021. He previously served as the commander of the United States Joint Special Operations Command from March 30, 2016 to August 2018. He participated in numerous combat operations, such as the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, and, since 2001, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

General Scott Miller fosters a deep sense of trust amongst his team by encouraging freedom and responsibility. His areas of expertise include building positive cultures that create inclusive, durable, and high-performing cross-functional teams; leading transformational change; ethical decision making; and crisis management.

He has extensive experience working with the U.S. Interagency and multi-national military and civilian leadership at the most senior political levels.

Marc Lasry

Mr. Lasry is the Co-Founder and CEO of Avenue Capital Group, New York.

Avenue Capital Group is a global investment firm that was founded in 1995 by its Senior Principals, Marc Lasry and Sonia Gardner. The firm’s primary focus is investing in distressed debt and other special situations investments in the United States, Europe and Asia. The firm manages assets estimated to be approximately USD 12bn and employs c. 170 people worldwide.

Mr. Lasry co-founded Amroc Investments, LLC (“Amroc”), which purchased both trade claims and bank debt held by vendors of bankrupt and/or distressed companies. Prior to that, Mr. Lasry was the Co–Director of the Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization Department at Cowen & Company. He also served as Director of the Private Debt Department at Smith Vasiliou Management Company.

Mr. Lasry is currently a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and he has served and will continue to serve on various other boards of advisors/directors of both for-profit and not-for-profit private and public companies.

Mr. Lasry graduated with a B.A. in History from Clark University and a J.D. from New York Law School.

Ian Read

Mr Read is the former CEO & Executive Chairman of Pfizer Inc

As president, chief executive officer, and chairman of Pfizer, Mr Read created more than $240 billion in shareholder value.
Born in Scotland and raised in Zimbabwe, he received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College London and earned Chartered Accountants certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

He joined the biopharmaceutical company Pfizer in 1978 as an operational auditor and quickly ascended to the company’s leadership team. Until 1995, Mr Read worked in Latin America, including key appointments as chief financial officer of Pfizer Mexico and country manager of Pfizer Brazil. In 1996, Mr Read was appointed president of Pfizer’s International Pharmaceuticals Group, Latin America , which led to a series of promotions. He was named executive vice president for Europe in 2000 and corporate vice president in 2001. Additional areas of responsibility included oversight of operations in Canada, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. He later became senior vice president and group president of Pfizer’s Worldwide Biopharmaceutical Businesses.

Mr Read was appointed CEO in 2010, and a year later, became Pfizer’s chairman of the board. He retired as CEO in December 2018 and as board chairman at the end of 2019. He is presently chairman of DXC and a board member of Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

Lars Windhorst

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Windhorst founded Windhorst New Technologies AG in 2000 with a focus on investments in the internet and new technologies sectors. In 1995, Mr. Windhorst established Windhorst Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd. in Hong Kong and by 1996 the company had diversified into a trading and investment conglomerate with activities in electronics, industry, trading, real estate and finance. Mr. Windhorst founded his first company, Windhorst Electronics Group, at the age of 16 in 1993, assembling and distributing PCs and IT products across Europe with first year sales of over USD 50m. Mr. Windhorst was a member of Dr. Helmut Kohl’s (the then German Federal Chancellor) economic advisory board, and accompanied the Federal Chancellor to help generate business connections globally. Mr. Windhorst was also the youngest “Global Leader for Tomorrow” at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

 

Mr. Windhorst has been heavily involved in various philanthropies and has generously donated to charities in the field of art. He is a patron and benefactor of the Serpentine Gallery and member of the Council of Trustees of the Serpentine Gallery in London. He has been involved with supporting two world renowned art exhibitions. Firstly, the display of ‘Reichstag Unwrapped’, a photographic exhibition by conceptual artist Christo at the Reichstag in Berlin, twenty years after he first created his iconic building wrapper; and secondly, supporting the ongoing exhibitions at the Serpentine Gallery in London

Stefan Kindler

Chief Risk Officer

Mr. Kindler is the Chief Risk Officer and is Head of Legal & Compliance of Tennor. Mr. Kindler joined Tennor in January 2019. Mr. Kindler started his career as a lawyer at HLB Stueckmann and Partner, a mid-size auditing and tax consulting firm in Bielefeld, Germany. In 2004 he qualified as a tax consultant and later as a certified auditor. Mr. Kindler has 18 years of experience in auditing and advising large and mid-size companies in various industries (Pharmacy, Cosmetics, Agriculture, Abrasives and Food Industry) and during this time he accompanied several due diligence, tax compliance and M&A projects. He has expertise in German local GAAP and IFRS. Mr. Kindler holds a Law degree from University of Bielefeld.

Arjun Metre

Head of Sports, Media and Entertainment Investments

Mr. Metre is Head of Sports, Media & Entertainment related investments of Tennor. In this capacity, he has joined the boards of Tennor’s technology & media related portfolio companies. Mr. Metre served over the past 14 years, most recently, as Investment Director leading the Media, Entertainment and Sports Technology vertical at Intel Capital. Mr. Metre co-led the formation of the joint NBA-Intel Capital “Emerging Technology Initiative”. He holds a B.S. in Management Science/Quantitative Economics from the University of California at San Diego.

Robert Jung

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Jung is a former Partner of Ernst & Young where he was leading the Digital Strategy and Transformation solution offering in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. During his 20 years of consulting experience, Mr. Jung specialized in the support of high-performance organizations, the generation of digital strategies and the efficient execution of global digital initiatives. His consulting client portfolio includes German DAX30 companies, global layer 1 blockchains and supranational organizations like the United Nations. Mr. Jung studied International Business Administration in Germany, Spain and Hungary, holding a German Diploma and a Master of Business Administration.

Mark An

Portfolio Manager

Mr. An is a Managing Director having joined Tennor in 2012. Prior to that, Mr. An was a VP with Macquarie Group in London providing financial advisory services to corporate clients across the Telecom, Technology, Media and Entertainment sectors. In parallel, he was also part of Macquarie’s principle investment team. Mr. An is a Korean national, fluent in Korean and English, who served as a Sergeant in the Republic of Korea Army in the Aviation Operations Command and completed service with honours as a Squadron Leader. He holds a Master of Science in Finance from INSEAD, Master of Philosophy, Industrial Management from the University of Cambridge and a BSc, Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Tarek Malak

Portfolio Manager

Mr. Malak is a Managing Director having joined Tennor in 2011. Before that, Mr. Malak was with N.M. Rothschild & Sons in their Financial Advisory Group, specialising in M&A (focusing on TMT, consumer/retail and real estate) and debt restructuring (focusing on real estate, consumer/retail and leisure) transactions for large and mid-cap clients. Mr. Malak graduated from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland, with a Master’s degree in Business and Economics.

Rene Riefler

Investor Relations Manager

Mr. Riefler is a Managing Director having joined Tennor in 2011. Before that, Mr. Riefler held senior positions in the banking and asset management industry for over two decades. He was Managing Director and founder of the largest non-bank owned Austrian Brokerage Company, RRS Strategies Services GMBH and the co-owner, CIO and board member of Euroinvest Bank. Previously, at the Bank Austria, Mr. Riefler built the Derivatives Trading department and served as a Managing Director for Investment bank Austria. Mr. Riefler was also a fund manager with San Marco KAG, and Managing Director for Ringturm KAG, the asset management company of Vienna Insurance Group VIG.
